Egg in the Nest


(1 serving)

Ingredients:

1 slice Bread
1 egg
1 teaspoon Oil, Bacon Grease, Butter or Shortening

Directions:

  1. Over moderate heat, melt shortening in a frying pan. Grease should cover bottom of the pan.
  2. Cut a hole in the center of the bread the size of an egg yolk.
  3. Place bread in the pan of hot grease.
  4. Break egg over the hole in the bread and pour out egg yolk to sit in hole.
  5. Fry the egg and bread to personal preference; flip once and serve.
