Maple Apple Rings


(Serves 4)

Ingredients:

4 medium Baking Apples, cored, and thinly sliced into rings
2 tablespoons plus 2 teaspoons Maple Syrup
2 teaspoons Butter, melted
1/2 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon Ground Nutmeg
1/4 cup Natural Almonds

Directions:

  1. Arrange apple rings on 4 large squares of heavy duty aluminum foil.
  2. Combine syrup, margarin, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Stir well.
  3. Spoon 2 teaspoons of syrup mixture over each serving of apples.
  4. Sprinkle 1 tablespoon almonds over each serving of apples.
  5. Wrap securely and seal edges well.
  6. May be stored in ice chest.
  7. To cook: Place packets over medium coals for 15 minutes or until apples are tender.
