Mountain Brook Trout

(Serves 1)

Ingredients:

1 Brook Trout
2 tablespoons Butter
1 teaspoon Lemon Juice
1 teaspoon Garlic (add more to taste)
1/2 teaspoon Dill Weed
3 Bacon Strips
Foil

Directions:

Part A:

  1. This recipe is simple and delicious. The only difficult part is catching these cunning mountain brook trout. They can easily be caught in small mountain streams with 1/8 oz. Panter Martin spinning lure or a black nymph fly. Light test line and a sneaky up-stream approach are most effective. Once the fish is caught, follow directions in Part B.

Part B:

  1. Clean and prepare trout.
  2. Prepare two sheets of foil large enough to seal your catch.
  3. Place trout in foil, add all of the ingredients, and seal tightly.
  4. Place in coals of fire or cook over medium high heat turning every few minutes until sizzling (approximately 20 minutes). Bacon fat keeps it from burning.
