Star/Life/Eagle Campout
April 3-4, 2009


 What: Rock Climbing and Rappelling Course

Where: Ocoee Adventure Rafting (O.A.R.) located in Southeast Tennessee near Cleveland, Tennessee

Cost: $65 per scout for the Rappelling / Climbing Course + Camping Fee (merit badge for climbing will be earned upon successful completion)
Who: all scouts who have reached the rank of Star, Life or Eagle
When:  April 3-4-5, 2009
   March 30th (Monday and, April 1 (Wednesday), 2009
   6:00 p.m. the EYC will be open for Scouts and Grubmasters to pull whatever Troop equipment they need.  If you need to check-out a Troop tent, please let us know so we can reserve one for you (respond to Mr. McDonald at allen@bsmproperties.com). Check-out of equipment will not be allowed on evening of departure...prepare ahead !
April 3 (Friday), 2009
   5:00 pm – Depart EYC House (Eat on your own Friday night)
   9:30 pm (EST) – Arrive Campsite at O.A.R. Set up camp
   Saturday, April 4, 2009
   7:30 am – Reveille; Prepare Breakfast; Prepare sack lunch to take to climbing course
   9:00 am – Check-in at O.A.R
   9:30 am – Begin Rock Climbing and Rappelling Course
   12:00 am – Lunch at O.A.R Course
   12:30 pm – Continue Rock Climbing and Rappelling Course
   4:30 pm – Finish up Climbing Course and earn climbing merit badge
   5:00 pm – Begin Dinner
   6:30 pm – Dinner
  10:00 pm- Lights out
Sunday, April 5, 2009
   6:30 am – Reveille; prepare breakfast & pack up for departure
   7:45 am – Depart O.A.R.
  10:45 am ( CST) – Arrive back at EYC house and unpack
  11:15 am Ok for parents to pick up at EYC house (no one departs until all equipment is property put away)
Reminders:
oCook assignments will be assigned after signups are completed. We will prepare the following meals:
Saturday – Breakfast; Lunch (sack); Dinner with Dessert
Sunday – Breakfast (No cooking..bagels or similar so we have quick clean-up)
oScouts and adults must bring $12.00 to pay for the meals
oRemember to dress appropriately – it may be warm during the day and cool at night. Climbing gear will be provided by O.A.R.
oBring a water bottle! The Troop will not provide cups.
oRemember to bring your camping equipment – tent; sleeping bag; sleeping pad; flashlight; etc.

oPatrol Leaders Responsibility
•  Scouts and Parents Wanting to Attend Must Do the Following
oYou must advise the trip leader which adults can drive, and if so, how many seatbelts are available for riders.
•  • Scout Members Responsibility
 You Must Do the Following
oYou must sign up for this campout directly with by contacting the trip leader, Allen McDonald ( see contact information above)
oYou must inform the adult trip leader, Allen McDonald if your parent is attending the campout.
oIf you need to cancel your attendance at the campout , you must contact the adult trip leader, Allen McDonald. You will still be responsible for reimbursing your Patrol Grubmaster for your portion of the food purchased.
•  • Equipment
oBring a water bottle! The Troop will not provide cups!
oBring comfortable clothes to climb in…be prepared for cool/cold evenings. Remember to layer.
oScouts are not permitted to bring electronics on the campout – no I-Pods, no cell phones. The Troop is not responsible for the loss or damage of these electronics
