Stone Door Campout

   Friday, October 17, 2008

   4:30 pm – Meet at EYC House; Load Troop Trailer

   6:00 pm – Depart EYC House

     Dinner (bring sack dinner to eat in car or at campsite)

   8:30 pm – Arrive Stone Door Ranger Station Campground; Set up camp

   Saturday, October 18, 2008

   7:00 am – Reveille; Prepare Breakfast; Prepare sack lunch to take on hike

   9:30 am – Travel to Savage Falls Ranger Station

   10:00 am – Begin Hike to Savage Falls

   11:30 am – Arrive at Savage Falls; Lunch

   1:30 pm – Begin Hike to Cars

   3:00 pm – Travel to Stone Door Ranger Station

   4:30 pm – Prepare Dinner; Dessert Cook-off

   10:00 pm – Lights Out

   Sunday, October 19, 2008

   7:00 am – Reveille

   7:15 am – Prepare Breakfast

   9:00 am – Break Camp

   10:00 am – Hike to Stone Door; Nondenominational Service

   11:00 am – Hike to Cars

   11:30 am – Depart Stone Door Ranger Station

   TBA pm – Arrive EYC House; Unload Troop Trailer

Reminders:

    • Patrols will prepare the following meals:
      • Saturday – Breakfast; Lunch (sack); Dinner with Dessert Cook-off
      • Sunday – Breakfast (No Pop Tarts – you must cook)
    • Scouts and adults must bring $20 -- $10 and ten $1's – this is to pay your Patrol Grubmaster for the Patrol meals
    • Remember to dress appropriately – it may be warm during the day and cool at night
    • Bring a water bottle! The Troop will not provide cups.
    • Bring a day pack or backpack. See reverse for more information
    • Bring a swimsuit, towel and water shoes.
    • Remember to bring your camping equipment – tent; sleeping bag; sleeping pad; flashlight; etc.

 You Must Do the Following No Later than Thursday, October 9, 2008 at 5:00 pm

    • You must contact every member of your patrol to confirm if the Scout and their parent will be attending this campout.
    • You must determine from the adult if they will be driving, and if so, how many seatbelts are available for riders.
  • You Must Do the Following No Later than Friday, October 10, 2008 at 8:00 am
    • You must contact your Patrol Grubmaster and provide him with the exact count of Scouts and Adults attending the campout; (for example, the Dragon Patrol will have 8 Scouts and 4 Adults attending. This aids the Grubmaster with meal planning.)
    • You must contact Pam Casey at pcasey@bassberry.com and provide her with the list of Scouts and Adults from your patrol that will be attending the campout. (For example, the Dragon Patrol Scout attendees will be Tommy Smith, Bobby Jones, Ralph Gonzalez; Adult attendees will be George Smith and Mark Gonzalez)
    • You must contact Pam Casey at pcasey@bassberry.com and provide her with the list of Adults that will be driving and the number of seatbelts available for riders. (For example, the Dragon Patrol adult drivers will be George Smith with 4 seatbelts for riders and Mark Gonzalez with 6 seatbelts for riders)
  • Changes to the Patrol Campout Attendees List should be immediately communicated to the Patrol Grubmaster and Pam Casey
  • Scout Members Responsibility
  •  You Must Do the Following No Later than Thursday, October 9, 2008 at 5:00 pm

      • You must sign up for this campout directly with your Patrol Leader either in Patrol Corners or by contacting your Patrol Leader on the phone or via email.
      • You must inform the Patrol Leader if your parent is attending the campout.
      • If you need to cancel your attendance at the campout after October 9, 2008 at 5:00 pm, you must contact your Patrol Leader. You will still be responsible for reimbursing your Patrol Grubmaster for your portion of the food purchased.
  • Equipment
      • Bring a water bottle! The Troop will not provide cups!
      • Bring a day pack or backpack. We will be taking a day hike to Savage Falls, (approximately 3 miles). In your day pack or backpack, pack your lunch, towel, change of clothes (in a ziplock bag) water shoes (in a ziplock bag), water bottle, first aid kit, new scout survival kit. Do not bring a day pack that resembles a pillowcase on a string! These are not appropriate for the 3 mile hike. Invest in a day pack, backpack, or use your school backpack (leave the school books at home).
      • Scouts are not permitted to bring electronics on the campout – no I-Pods, no cell phones. The Troop is not responsible for the loss or damage of these electronics.
  • Dessert Cook-Off
      • Each patrol will prepare a dessert using the main ingredient of Chocolate
      • Judges will be the three most senior Scouts attending the campout
  • Meals
      • All meals will take place at the Campground picnic tables
      • No food will be in the campsites
