“It is far better for a scout to eat a burnt pancake that he cooked himself
than to eat one perfectly prepared by an adult.”
William W. Stifler
, Troop 31 Scoutmaster, 1957-1964 and 1966-1969

“Even the burned parts taste good.”
Hicks Woolwine, Troop 31 Eagle Scout

“I felt I had accomplished a really big goal when I first saw my Tenderfoot
badge. I felt like I was king of the world, that I could do anything.”

Kroger Gift Cards

Support Troop 31 by purchasing Kroger Gift Cards.

Information on Kroger Gift Cards

Troop 31 is one of the few troops in this district that does not conduct a yearly fundraiser, such as popcorn sales, Christmas tree sales, etc. We hope to use the Kroger gift card to raise funds for the Troop to purchase new equipment and other needs.

5% of all sales at any Kroger will be given back to the Troop.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Purchase a Kroger gift card from Tommy Landstreet, Troop 31’s Grocery Coupon Chancellor, or Katie Weien, Troop 31’s Treasurer, for $5, $10, or $25 at any Scout meeting. Cards also will be available at Court of Honor ceremonies.
  2. Make purchases at any Kroger store. Five percent of all sales are given back to Troop 31.
  3. In the checkout line, BEFORE your items are scanned, recharge your Gift Card with enough credit to cover your total purchase.
  4. Pay for your items with your Kroger Gift Card. Your balance on the card will remain. You can “recharge” your card anytime (before your items are scanned.)
  5. Every time your card is “recharged”, Troop 31 gets credit.

The gift card costs nothing because your card “purchase” puts immediate credit on your card for groceries.

The potential money raised is significant. Just 50 families making purchases of $100 per week for 52 weeks will raise $13,000! Anyone can use the cards. You could give a card to family members, friends or even babysitters.

This is the easiest way to raise money for Troop 31 because we ALL go to the grocery!
